Historical notes. Concepts of disease, pathogenicity, virulence, resistance, susceptibility. Koch's postulates.
Taxonomy and structures of fungi, bacteria and viruses. Symptoms, principles and procedures for the diagnosis.
The infectious process. Epidemiology. Attack mechanisms. Defense mechanisms.
Tutorials: diagnosis procedures, observation of symptoms in infected samples.
